Happy Place: THESE are Your Twelve Theme Months for 2020! (And Also 2021)!
On September 19th, 2019, in this here blog or thereabouts, I announced my big idea for 2020. For a feature I called 2020: The Year YOU Control Nathan Rabin I gave patrons the option to nominate a theme month for 2020 in exchange for a one time, ninety nine dollars that, if enough people voted for it, would become a proper theme month here on the site.
Like many, if not most of my ideas, it didn’t quite take off quite like I had hoped and I was so swamped finishing two books that I didn’t get around to the all-important patron poll until well into 2020. That said I am pleased to very tardily but enthusiastically announce the themes for the next twelve months of the year:

This is gonna be fun! In the year ahead I will ask AND answer the question, Who’s Harry Crumb, and several more!?! We’re starting a little late but it’s going to be great, and I’ll still be doing The Travolta/Cage Project and Travolta/Cage and Control Nathan Rabin 4.0 and the Tales From the Crypt deep dive and My World of Flops and working on the expanded version of The Weird Accordion to Al and promoting that book and my book on Postal that I wrote with my friend Brock Wilbur.
Shit! That is a whole lot! Perhaps it would behoove me to take the final week of February off so I can work ahead and get the proper year off on solid footing instead of perpetually being behind due to the enormous workload of this site.
And I haven’t even discussed my Weird and Insane Afternoon with Nathan Rabin at Los Angeles’ legendary Dynasty Typewriter at 3:30 on February 22nd.
Goodness! There are so many wonderful things in my present and future the it’s a little overwhelming but we’re gonna have a great time and I am going to need y’all to go on this journey with me in order to make this experiment with democracy the success it has the potential to be.
